About Our Name and Logo

Our name is based on our approach to pet nutrition. It began with a desire to understand our pets’ natural, instinctive diet. From that starting point, we added the latest scientific knowledge about animal nutrition.

We named our company after Charles Darwin, whose work embodies this approach of being “Inspired by Nature, Informed by Science.”

Darwin’s trip to the Galapagos Islands in 1831 provided the inspiration for his later theories of evolution and natural selection. The name of his ship on that voyage was the H.M.S. Beagle.
